"Thiudiskaz" in proto-Germanic, says Wikipedia, and similarly "theod" in Old G., from "theudo" in proto-G. Which is correct? Of course, I mean more rigorously affirmed and argued for and accepted. Supplement: And of course we know that "Teuton" is also sometimes used as a synonym for "German". Eugene
