I agree, on all counts. I can't imagine creating a satisfactory glyph
without first drawing a lot of unsatisfactory ones, and it's too
difficult to produce something like that spontaneously in the
computer. Although a vector drawing package might suffice.
I've really been trying to create a script I can write easily, though,
so it wouldn't make any sense to start other than with paper. It's
taking a long time to come up with an inventory of strokes that I can
perform rapidly, attractively and unambiguously. I've got the
consonants done, at least (unless I change them).
