Poetry in Druni:

I have written quite a bit of poetry in Druni although my favorites are from
the story "Enchantress of Djanár" (Talmenshúnek Djanára) which I am presently
writing. Here is a sample:

Kadimyátor, kadimyátor,
Mógit shprúnit zurhanór...
Talmenshúnya séti mógan,
Anuntára mógit dór.

Mampisyári, mampisyári,
Díni níkhan, shagalílu...
Untaróva mógit rózha,
Otrinífya chadalílu.

Dukhulór, éy dukhulór!
Tsírtsir-Rám, éy Talmenshúnek...
Shúnya, ónya, shprúnya, prónya,
Loshdzevyáti, mógit Rúnek!

LITERARY TRANSLATION

Please come with us, please come with us,
Brother strong and wonderful...
Guide us with you spirit-sight,
To a new world beautiful.

We are seeking, we are searching,
In our souls and in our minds...
Our new world serene and peaceful,
Liberation we shall find.

Come young prince, O come young prince,
Fire-Foot, O Spirit-Seer...
Seeing, being, strong and singing,
Let us journey without fear!

LITERAL TRANSLATION

Let him come, let him come,
Our strong brother...
To spirit-see with us,
Prince of our color-world

We are searching, we are searching,
In soul, by means of mind...
World of our peace,
To liberate by means of emotion.

Boy, oh boy,
Fire-Foot, oh Spirit-Seer...
To see, to be, to be strong, to sing,
To travel together, our Northman!

Sonóva ukhése (Thanks to you all)
