They *appear* with the high-order digit on the left and the low-order
digit on the right. But which digit is written first? Thus when an
arabophone writes "365", is "3" written first, or is "5" written first?
I know that in Farsi the "3" is written first, and when handwriting
one's hand moves to the left a sufficient distance to write "3" "6" "5"
and then jumps rightward over the whole number. But I never could find
out if this is also the case when native Arabic speakers write numbers.
