egroups seems to use a brain-dead bulk mail format which is normally
only used for SPAM, and thus bounced by quite a number of ISPs.
I tried to subscribe via egroups first, but received no mails from
the list even though, as could be seen from the egroups archive,
it was HUMMING, and five days later I got a mail that they dumped
me off because all the messages they'd try to send to my address
had bounced.
Then I subscribed via brown.edu, no problem.
