<rueful look> As a SF/F reader I tend to be more inclusive with
"literature" than most, but I honestly went into this book knowing very
little about Graves other than that he writes poetry and historical?
fiction?--I picked it up because Joan D. Vinge mentions it as an
inspiration for _The Snow Queen_ (a beautiful SF novel whose structure is
based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale of the same title, I think)
and I think I've vaguely heard of fantasy authors also citing it as an
influence.
