I have personally known some of these people in my time. Yes, they really
exist. One of them tried to introduce a finer nuance into the belief by
saying that the KJV "expresses God's will for the English-speaking peoples."
So God has something different to say to people who speak other languages,
eg Greek??? But, in other respects, they're just plain folks--they don't
have gills or fangs or antennas growing out of their heads. And I don't
think its any weirder than many people's unexamined beliefs in noble savages
or blank slate babies or lysenkoism; to say nothing of astrology,
reincarnation, or karma. ~alypius
