ROFLOL. I drew maps of cities (and had a collection of city maps from all
over the US--Chambers of Commerce were quite cooperative, I had Boston, LA,
SF, Miami, but never snagged NYC or Chicago). My main project ended up at
about 3ft X 5, every street was named. It was beautiful. That's probably
when they realized I might be "odd". After I moved onto other things, all
my maps ended ended up in the attic, and were thrown away when they sold the
house in 1957 DAMN!! I also had a house-plan going, inspired by the
discovery of the blueprints of our real house in the attic. It was a rather
Mt. Vernon-ish clone......There was some hope I might become an architect,
but calculus was one of the requirements in college, and I couldn't quite
grasp it. However the experience helped me no end when I bought my
then-wreck of a house here in Saugatuck 18 years ago.
My two best friends in boarding school were named John Livingston and Peter
Mather. John had been to school for a while in England and knew Greek and
was a conlanger too-- he announced that we were The Livimamillian Circle, ho
kyklos limamillianos. John and I, in one of our moments of folie a deux,
drew up some Limamillian banknotes, and a passport IIRC; by then the word
had mutated into conlangish Limhamillão (pronounced [lI~])
ObConlang !!

OK. The Kash world (Cindu) uses a world wide decimal currency called
_taruna_, truni for short (trung in Gwr). In 2002 or so I announced it was
roughly = in purchasing power to US $1.25, but I feel that was probably too
low, even then. From the website: "It is divided into 100 parts, called
kurok (~kroki), with coins for 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50kr; there are also 1
and 2 truni coins. Paper bills exist in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 50 and
100tr. Coins in general are popularly called tomici 'little money', bills
tokapra 'paper money'."
(kurok is < kurongo '100th') I've never tried to draw the bills or coins, as
I don't precisely know what things/people look like there :-))))
And don't get me going on maps......though only 2 are on the website. And
the globe project is idling..........
