I've been wanting to see pennies go away for 25+ years. They are more of a nuisance than anything else. I can still see keeping the nickel. I liked the Australian way of doing it. The smallest coin being $.05 (at least when I was there), the cash registers just round the total up or down as needed. Not too different from the little dish full of pennies kept by the register in most smaller shops.
