If you're interested in doing sound change on the computer, you might want
to look at Lingua::Phonology. Rather than simply swapping text strings, it
actually models feature-geometric phonology, giving you virtually
unlimited power and flexibility. I use it myself, and have been quite
happy with the results so far.
