So is Massachusetts, except for the People's Republic of Cambridge. My
Hawai'ian friends also sometimes refer to their state jokingly as "The
People's Republic of Hawai'i"as well. This is also true of Oberlin, OH
residents - but they call Oberlin "The People's BGLT Republic of Oberlin."
