- Well, the only real ligature that i can think of is laam-alif, which looks just like the two letters individually, except that they're merged together at one point instead as part of a horizontal line. In handwritten Arabic, though, there are lots more ligature-like features, when certain letters can only be joined by putting one almost on top of another one. -Stephen (Steg) "SabaaH alxayr!
