I have an "outing" goal that is not quite so academic, but still somewhat
daunting none the less.
My wife has not only acknowledged that things Alurian are part of my life,
but believes that the stories, legends, etc., as well as the language
itself, can be a wonderful thing to share with our eventual grandchildren.
(Our children are too old for the first exposure, being out of =
highschool,
and have mostly no interest in any of this stuff anyway). She believes
that I should write down every legend & story in preparation for using =
them
as Reading Material to very young children, and that I could include other
language stuff like simple phrases, children's songs, etc., that I could
share with the grandchildren while they're very young to help form a bond
with them. It also will help Alurian Culture to be perpetuated after a
fashion because these become family-type traditions then, with the
grandchildren hopefully wanting to read the same stories they heard as =
kids
to their own children, etc.
Personally I find this a wonderful opportunity and I intend to do my very
best to make it happen. At the same time it is a terrifying exposure of
self, and the fear always exists that our own children or their children
will come back with "What a stupid hobby! Why don't you tell me about
Power Rangers instead of this crap!" which would, of course, be =
devastating.
But as the Alurian proverb runs:
Dey=EBs faleghl=E2 zh'=F3r=FCv=E1n p=F3lef dd=F3x=E2 zh=EB z=E1rrevn=E1n =
l=E1ks=E1n.
(You must loose sight of the shore in order to catch the biggest fish.)
So I will launch into this with both feet and pray/hope for the best...
