Indeed. Mine was the first of its kind to be sold in the NYC Metro area.
My picture appeared in the local Radio Shack for some time. My daughter,
now a mother of twins, also learned BASIC on the TRS-80 when she was 7. And
yes, the original system only had cassette storage, although I later
upgraded it to include a floppy drive that held a whopping 16K.
