South Dakota had no Daylight Saving from 1920 to 1941 inclusive, so
you're OK. DST in the USA is always a bit of a mystery: my source shows
that in South Dakota, Jefferson, Vermillion, and Yankton all had it in
1964 for that year only, but no one seems to know why or when.
