I'm still not quite certain, but Warngalyang (which is what I propose the
English name of the language be) seems to have the following tenses and
moods verb-wise:
Indicative
Present - I eat, I do eat, I am eating
Past - I ate, I did eat, I was eating
Past Indefinite - I used to eat
Remote Past - I ate long ago etc.
Future - I will eat, I will be eating
Eternal - I always eat, I eat at all times (I wish!)
Imperative - eat!
Jussive - permit me to eat
Prohibitive - do not eat!
Permissive - you may eat!
Precative - may you be cursed!
Subjunctive (possibility of completion)
(Hungarian 'lehet' formations)
Present - perhaps he is eating
Past - perhaps he has eaten
Past Indefinite - perhaps he used to eat
Remote Past - perhaps he ate long ago
Future - perhaps he will eat
Eternal - perhaps he always eats
Conditional (could have happened but didn't)
(Hungarian 'volna' formations)
Present - if he would eat
Past - if he would have eaten
Remote Past - if he would have eaten long ago
Eternal - if he would always have eaten
Hypothetical (probability)
Present - he is probably eating
Past - he probably ate
Past Indefinite - he probably used to eat
Remote Past - he probably ate long ago
Future - he will probably eat
Eternal - he will probably always eat
