I *really* disliked when my Professor used it, but there was no breaking him of that habit. I didn't feel like bringing the ire of the entire class (90% Mexican American/Chicano/Latino, whatever) on me by using "hispanic" out of spite either ;). It's just so wrong to use that word to refer to all caucasians. Sheesh, how hard it it to simply say "white", or if not that, "Caucasian"? The Kiwi's are lucky they have a single native culture to pick a word to refer to the white folk :). Here in the states i can imagine the ire raised if one culture's word was used. All the more reactionary people from other cultural groups would feel ignored :).
