Since I was designing Dublex to be easy to learn, I thought it would make=
a
great code language for friends who wanted to talk privately. I also wan=
ted
to teach my wife it, now that my twin sons are older and learning to spel=
l.
:-) ("Daddy, what is S-E-X anyway?" was a recent indication that we can=
no
longer spell out things.) Unfortunately, my wife thinks I'm crazy and
doesn't want to learn Dublex.
So now I want to teach my kids Dublex, so that we can talk to each other
without being understood by (m)others. So I bought a box of flashcards a=
nd
wrote the Dublex words on them. Unfortunately, they mainly want me to
translate Pokemon names into the language:
jebfabjant [pocket+monster(made+animal); note that Pok=E9mon is a Japanes=
e
word coined from English "pocket monster"] Pok=E9mon (registered U.S.
trademark of Nintendo) -- general name given to the many creatures found =
in
the Pok=E9mon universe, which is the subject of video games, trading card
games and cartoons
"Hmm, okay, Chris, I guess 'Blastoise' would be 'vattubvuhi circrept'
[water+tube+weapon+/idiomatic-conjunction turtle(circle+reptile)]. No,
Alex, I can't think of a good name for Psyduck. Um, wait a minute -- how
about 'mentsensi vathir' (mental+sense+/id.m. water+bird)?"
Prepare for trouble! Make it double!
