Nice to read recent posts and website updates of conlang grammars (Pablo and
Andy's
stuff, Kash vocab, Om Mpaa page, etc.)
I am slowly and carefully rounding up and solving my own conlang's last
untamed, uncertain bits.
(i) Verbal voices:
The verbal voice tags switched from Cai- prefixes to reduplications, but the
system itself is untouched.
sirati "lesson"
sira-ra-ti "to learn"
sira-sirati (uyu) "to teach (to)"
si-sirati "to be learned"
si-sira-sirati "to be taught" (the lesson is taught)
sai-sira-siratinyu "to be taught to" (the child is taught)
(ii) Oblique passive: Cai+verb
piririki u sanaku ai pamingi
talking @ topic is-that flower
to talk about the flower
pamingi a paipiriki u sanaku
flower does have-talking @ topic
the flower is talked about
siruruta u kamini yu surangu
eating @ inside of house
to eat inside the house
surangu a saisiruta u kamininyu
house does have-eating @ inside-of-it
*the house is eaten inside / people eat inside the house
(Mmmouais...I'm still not convinced with this all. :-\)
