If you're really stuck, maybe you can enable the telnet server and use
Putty to connect to localhost. I'm pretty sure Putty supports unicode,
at least; but it's obviously not the best solution. You'll want to use
a firewall to block external access to the telnet server if you do
this, as it's not a secure protocol.
