Gevey clause structures

This may or may not be of interest to others ...

Having reached the 50th clause of my current translation project, I thought
I'd do a quick check to see how the word ordering is shaking out. The reason
for this exercise is that Gevey "allegedly" has no word order, though in
practice new information or important information (in the view of the
speaker/writer) will tend to go towards the front of the clause.

Using the familiar VSO system, my two texts (shown separately below, as the
two storytellers have different idiolects) currently come out at:

Babel text translation (31 clauses):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
V - 0
VS - 4
VO - 1
VSO - 2
VOS - 1
Verb initial - 8 (approx 27%)

S - 0
SV - 2
SVO - 6
SOV - 8
Subject initial - 16 (approx 49%)

O - 0
OV - 1
OVS - 5
OSV - 1
Object initial - 7 (approx 24%)

Big Man Sam text translation (50 clauses to date):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
V - 0
VS - 1
VO - 2
VSO - 1
VOS - 0
Verb initial - 4 (approx 8%)

S - 1
SV - 10
SVO - 7
SOV - 19
Subject initial - 36 (approx 72%)

O - 0
OV - 1
OVS - 8
OSV - 0
Object initial - 9 (approx 18%)

These figures will change as the Big Man Sam translation progresses.
