But isn't the Japanese system, compared to the Korean one,
two-dimensional instead of one.  I thought Japanese has honorifics (on
nouns only: o- and go-) and politeness/formality levels (on nouns
(-san, -sama, ...) and verbs (-mas, desu, ...)) while Korean only has
politeness/formality (on nouns (dunno) and verbs (-(i)pnida, ...)).
The nouns you mention seem to be exceptions (two very seperate words,
but nothing regular).

Am I wrong?  I'm not at all an expert, it's only loosely gathered
information I combined in my head. :-)
