Hi!

I did not like it because it was an English abbreviation pronounced like French in German: /e:ky:/ (German adds phonemic length). `Euro' OTOH is too long. I'd have chosen something like 'Nin' or so, which should be pronounced similarly in all contries (if that word doesn't do it, maybe we'll find something else). {eu} is one of the most polymorphic graphemes that exists, I think. Of course, a group of experts would have to find our whether the word is grammatically exceptable in all languages (including Irish). Further, I'd have dropped the sub-unit. Moreover, to have 1 and 2 cent coins is ridiculous. So I'd have divided cents by 5 to get 5 cents = 1 nin, 1 euro = 20 Nins. :-))) **Henrik
