Yea, saw a similar one just after I wrote the above. My luck ...
In any case, I'd be very surprised if we're not in in a few years.

It'd would? Why not zero plural (like _dollar_, _mark_ and most other
foreign currencies) if there's something wrong with _écu_, pl _écus_ (which
was used in my local newspaper)?
