Hmm, I don't imagine Zireen living in anything much like a modern
western city, but it sounds like an interesting daydream. Now I'll have
to find out what a Zireen city looks like. Although they're high-tech,
they still have a strong sense of artistic balance and love of nature,
so there would be lots of open areas and trees everywhere among the
buildings. Possibly arranged on something like a hexagonal grid or maybe
something less regular.

Zireen are small people who live in another world; many of my recent
language sketches, such as Yasaro, are languages spoken by Zireen. They
have large round eyes, hands with four fingers (including the thumb),
and a light coat of fur; average height for adults is 2 1/2 feet (75
cm). The word "Zireen" and the name of their world, "Rishai", are from
an early Zireen language which I'm now calling Simîk; the "r" in both of
these words is [z`] (a very frequent sound in Zireen languages). You
might come across "Zirien" in older list archives, but I preferred the
older anglicized version, so I changed the spelling back to "Zireen".
