According to the AHD, "politic" is accented on the first syllable and
does have an adverb "politicly," also accented on the first syllable.
It says nothing about the postpositional adjective "politic" which I
have often used.
AHD also gives a intransitive verb "politick," meaning "to engage in
or discuss politics." I've only ever heard it used as the
gerund: "Politicking in our discussion group is not allowed."
