Quoting from Glossary to I.P.Ivanova's "A Reader in Early English", Leningrad, 1973: hátan, heht, sv.7 - to order, to call; hátte = was called; ME hight (<OE heht), haten, hoten || Gth. haitan; OHG heizzan; MnG heissen; OS hétan; OFr héta; Icel heita IMHO it really should be _heoht_, and not _heht_, but who cares...
