As I said, I would translate _cattle_ as _ganado_ (which doesn't mean I'd= translate it right); the Spanish word _ganado_ can be used for any kind of domestic...= herbivora. If you whant to be more specific you would say _ganado bovino_ (or even _= ganado vacuno_) for bulls, cows and oxens, but there also exists _ganado equino_= (horses), _ganado porcino_ (hogs), _ganado ovino_ (sheep), etc. But in most context if you don't speciffy _ganado_ will be used of bovine= s, at least in countries like Colombia where there are not big extentions of sheep or= goats livestocking. Probably the word _cattle_ has undergone that change: from= refering to any kind of livestock has narrowed to mean only bovines.
