Ah, true. Well, at any rate, I would interpret [@u] as my /o/ (well, [oU] or something similar, I can't quite figure out what it is, it's only slightly diphthongal), so /bajro/, [bajroU] would be my version of your [bAjr@u] -- "There's no such thing as 'cool'.
