Oh, very interesting! My language Tyl Sjok has something similar: a word
that makes the case role. The difference is that is consumes the verb,
so in a way, its the opposite: it introduces redundancy. The particle in
Tyl Sjok is abbreviated as NULL. And here is how it works:
The word 'teach' takes an agent to the left side and a patient to the
right side. On filling one of these positions with the NULL particle,
you get the corresponding case role:
NULL teach 'teacher' (like your ja' prefix)
teach NULL 'student' (like your ji' prefix)
(It does not exist yet, but 'to teach' is probably 'make know' in
Tyl Sjok since lexicon entries are usually stative.)
And in sentences:
NULL teach teach teach NULL. 'The teacher teaches the student.'
Ahems. :-)
Binary phrase structure:
((NULL teach) ((teach (teach PAT)))).
Maybe I should steal your idea to make a particle that, like your
'zlo', does not swallow the predicate. :-)
