No, typically a primate *is* an archbishop: the head of the national church, considered as a branch of the catholic (i.e. universal) church in that country.

I think that bishops must exist, and therefore dioceses, but they are small potatoes compared to abbots. In particular, secular (non-monastic) priests are effectively under the control of the abbot rather than the bishop. Perhaps this is managed by making the abbots also bishops.

Yes.

No. As in the Orthodox church, a priest must be the husband of one wife, which is interpreted to mean "no remarriage".

Yes. An open question is whether public confession survives, or whether secret (auricular) confession has replaced it completely.

But not as a sacrament personally instituted by Christ.
