Exactly so. The Latin (or now vernacular) mass, the "filioque" clause, priestly
celibacy, etc. etc. constitute the "Latin" or "Western" rite. The Eastern
Catholic churches use variations of the Eastern rite; so do their Orthodox
counterparts.
In essence, all the Uniate churches are the result of splits within various
national churches, whereby part of the church came into communion with Rome
and part (usually the greater part) did not, remaining either in communion
with Constantinople, or not in communion with anybody.
