Yes, a different syllable before would be a good idea, but it really must be
different for each number. Something like this would be even better:
0 apu
1 ebo
2 iti
3 ode
4 uka
5 afi
6 ewo
7 isu
8 ora
9 ule
This way, each number is distinct from each other.
Consecutive numbers would be:
10 ebo apu
11 ebo ebo
12 ebo iti
...
20 iti apu
21 iti ebo
22 iti iti
...
30 ode apu
40 uka apu
50 afi apu
...
100 ebo apu apu

Yes, that's not what I meant. I meant that the numbers by themselves are far
too similar.

Bad idea - telling "koko" from "kok ko" is too difficult and becomes
absolutely impossible if spoken somewhat faster.
