Thanks to everyone for all the helpful feedback. I see no problems in FF,
but I see problems with the logical symbols in MSIE-6, and in my MS-Outlook
inbox. Therefore, I will refrain from using the logical (and IPA) symbols
on the CONLANG list. The vowels don't seem to be causing as much havoc, so
I'll continue using those.

Of greater concern to me is the website that I am working on. I had been
plunging ahead using selected Unicode, which is working fine in FF, but is
broken in my MSIE. To figure out the extent of the problem, I found a cool
website that produces screenshots of web pages as displayed in various
browser/machine configurations: http://browsershots.org

For testing here's my OP:
http://archives.conlang.info/zhu/ghiphaen/vuerzhulfal.html

Oddly, in that website's generated MSIE-6 screenshot, the symbols are
displayed correctly. Apparently, fonts are installed differently on
different machines with similar configurations? Playing with the encodings
and fonts, I can't make it work in my MSIE-6, nor can I figure out how --
the CHM help file does not even contain the word "unicode". I think I will
simply put a notice on my forthcoming website that says "Use Firefox."
