Let me rephrase. I'd *want* approval, out of respect for Dr. Okrand, and for the
folks who make the TV show that I grew up on. I recall contacting Dr. Okrand
out of the blue when I was a goofy college student in a linguistics class
(roughly 15 years ago), and he was very gracious to answer questions from me
the stranger. I'd like to return the graciousness, if ever I were to publish
anything in Klingon. (Which I have no intention of doing.)
The publishers of Klingon Hamlet: what was their solution? Some bug in my brain
tells me that although Dr. Okrand isn't personally involved, his blessing was
required before the publication could go forward.
