In Japanese, doesnt u (depending where it is, i havent studied it, but can think of examples), and usually i (at least after /S/) tend to be very very faintly pronounced anyway? I have a professor whose wife is Japanese, and her name is Yoshiko. But, he always pronounces (and she seems to too), as /joSko/. So, wouldnt it not be unreasonable for Yoon to keep the /St/ she likes?\
