eh? "legal tender" means that it must, by law, be accepted in payment of debts; if you owe me a debt in pounds, and offer me payment in dollars, I can refuse it but (under US law) you are then discharged. a currency can be generally accepted, which i guess is what you mean, without being legal tender. -- Anton Sherwood -- http://www.ogre.nu/
