'qfitzat haderekh' means, literally, "the jump of the way". Possibly the
meaning is supposed to be "the short way" or "the shorter way" - the
short-cut. But the real translation of a short-cut, into modern Hebrew is
'qitzur derekh'.

What does _qfitzat haderekh_ mean? In the book it was 'the shortest
path' (or 'way'... I'm back-translating from Spanish).

The Book gives "kwisats haderach" (sp?) as IIRC "the shortening of the way".
