Or free timing, for life supporting task, work would be organized in
irregular turns as already used on Earth on 24 hours factories. Every on=
e
else would chose when he or she want to go to sleep or stay active. As m=
any
people does in big cities here on Earth.
If links to Earth remains active, the year, month, earth-day, earth hour
would be used for reference. If links are broken, the year,
month=3Dlunar-day, earth-day, earth-hour woud as well be used but in a
different way, because the month=3Dlunar-day is even easier to recognize =
than
moon-phases on Earth, something like the gregorian almanac wouldn't be
apropiated. If there were enough Judes, Chiness or some other culture
actually using a lunar calendar, that would be adopeted, I guess, but if =
the
great base of settlers are occidental christians/secular, with strong roo=
ts
to Earth with USA or EU as I thing would probbably happen if it happen, w=
hen
links broken, they would develope their own calendar.
Let's suppose they are based on English, but after there have different
backgrounds (Germans, Russians, Latin-Americans, Chiness) a new language
would be developed. So I belive the world "mont" would be use to mean a
natural dark+light period (lunar day). "sunfays" and "dakfays" would mea=
n
the sunny and dark phases of the lunar day. "day" would be use for an Ea=
rth
rotation. "ower" for an artificial subdivision of the "mont", maybe a
"mont"=3D700 "owers", grouped in 28 cycles of 25 "owers" each. Years wou=
ld be
counted since the fundation of the colony or the liberation from Earth. =
If
people living in the moon are not able to come to Earth, they would find =
no
reason to keep culture, but commerce.
