1. to know (s.t.) kaya
I know how to wield a sword.
makaya valuñi umit sovare
I-know method-its use sword

2. contents (in this case, kotani 'its word(s), what it says';
also a different verb, know = a person, or, be familiar with)
I know the contents of that letter
matimbat kotani añuri yu
I-know its-word letter that
(añuri 'thing-written' < uri to write)

3. might çaka 'power'
The army's might is not to be mocked, because the four of them can throw you
in the dungeon.
çaka añaçaramili yanda cakura, ombi ......
power army(pl)-gen. IMP-neg be-mocked, because.....

nila hani han pole icingar ri tenjambaraye
they four-of it you/acc can they-throw loc.dungeon-dat.

añaçaram: a collective (aña-) and animate (unusual) < çaram 'military
(adj.)'
What exactly does 'the four of them' refer to here? The four branches, Army
Navy Marines Air?? Surely not just 4 soldiers......
In Kash, anything refering to militar matters has a faintly archaic ring to
it, snce for some centrues there haven't been any national military forces,
just a Word Govt. thing, a mixture of Gwr and Kash personnel-- like UN
Peacekeepers but with real power-- and even it is seldom called upon. It's
not high-status; a nice place for younger sons of the nobility to play
around in, act important and wear fancy gear.

tenjambara 'dungeon' also archaic, irreg. ult < atenji =atel-ci 'little
room' + pambara 'black'
