дрожжи |drozhzhi| 'yeast'. And from what I hear, nobody pronounces щ as [StS] anymore. It's always [S;:]. Andreas Johansson wrote:

Hmm. I would suggest that ш /S/ and ж /Z/ are in fact [s`] and [z`]. Or maybe [S_e] and [Z_e]. With the same colouring as a hard л /l/ [5]=[l_e]. -- Yitzik
