Exactly, that’s the word. Note that дождь (dozhd’) is pronounced as
[дожжь] ([dozhzh’]), i.e. nobody here pronounces the «д» (“d”) letter.
On the other hand, you can’t say «ждь» (“zhd’”) is the spelling of it.
Another word, вождь (vozhd’), is pronounced as [вошть] ([vosht’]).
I don’t remember other words with this sound. Ah, wait, the word вожжи
(vozhzhi) is pronounced with soft «ж» (“zh”). Isaac, do you have other
suggestions?
