Well, there really are only a few colors available, and I'm sure just about
any color ribbon already means something. But it'd be trivial for me to
re-hue a ribbon once I get one drawn.

How about "... learn Language X" (name of some real endangered language) or
"... revive Language Y" (name of some real language thought to be extinct)?
