This is interesting, because if it goes to completion, it will obliterate
one of the Dutch/German isoglosses.

In fact, it is well established that children learn the details of
their language from the peer group, not the parents. Most obviously,
the native-born children of foreign-born parents have native accents,
not foreign ones.
