Truly. Even poor Greenberg, like the proverbial broken clock, has his good
moments.
This site was reminiscent of one that recently popped up on Cybalist--
someone's decipherment of Linear A (which probably was used around 1500
B.C.E if not earlier?)--- they uncovered the most amazing resemblances to
Latin and the modern Romance langs. One sequence of glyphs was said to be
"du - me- ni- ka" and meant, of course, "Sunday".
There must be a gazillion such sites. I love them, always good for some
chuckles. Paul Bennett gave us this yesterday--

if you pursue "entangledbank" you end up on a blog where, eventually, he
cites two more [search for "Edo Nyland" and you'll get to the relevant
place, it may be in "previous 20"].
I think one of the most amazing ones was by a certain Izzy Cohen [this also
popped up on cybalist; the members were not amused] who showed that just
about any English word was derivable from Hebrew. It involved
reversing/changing/metathesizing/you-name-it the Hebrew letters (and of
course never mind the vowels).
