The transcription of the Creek in the etymology of "Cherokee" in my dictionary is "tciloki" - but there's no accompanying explanation of the system, so I have no idea how to pronounce it, especially the "tc". However, I hazard a guess that it is /tSiloki/, in which case we have /tSiloki/ => /tSE`roki/ => /tsAlAgi/. For those few of you who can not only decode UTF-8 mail but also have the Cherokee glyphs in your font, "Tsalagi" written ᏣᎳᎩ in the Cherokee syllabary. For the rest of you, it looks kind of like "CWY", but since there are seven different syllables that all look somewhat like "C" or "G", three that look something like "W", and two that look something like "Y", that's not terribly helpful. :) -Mark
