Except for the fact that we pronounce it [g4&i] or [g@4&i] or with [d]
for more conservative speakers, and that voiced stops get fricativised,
so it really comes out as more like /GDe/, and that's ignoring the other
things that happen to them, leaving it at something like /ie/, without
paying attention to the order these things happen in...
So I'm afraid, fitting though it may be, it isn't to be.
