That's the Gregorian chant melody in the book that I copied the text from (though it starts on F there; I'm more comfortable with C too, being a contralto). Probably the original melody (if there is one at all). I can't recall off the top of my head whether most later composers retained the melody and arranged it, or made something of their own.
