Well, it's strange, I'm usually not partial to them either, but there's
something about Arabic that seems to compensate for those sounds. In
fact, there doesn't seem to be that many, at least in the Arabic of Ziad
and Rania (my Lebanese-American next-door neighbors). I think it's the
intonation patterns that appeal to me.
