Just checked in a textbook on IE languages I have. Faliscan is given as a "Latin variant with strong 'rustic' connotations (due to Umbrian interferences)." I seem to understand that this statement is not uncontroversial, though. It is interesting to note, anyway, that this piece of information comes from the chapter on Italic languages, not Latin, although the latter has a section dedicated to the early sources of the language (in this section, BTW, the so-called _fibula praenestina_ is dismissed as a now unanimously recognized false). Just my 0.2$ Tommaso.
